How do I edit submitted files, pre-peer review?
Once you have been assigned a submission to handle as an editor, the submission will appear in your ‘MyQueue” tab in your dashboard. You can review the submission details, check that the submitted files have been blinded (if applicable) and then invite reviewers by clicking on the ‘View’ button next to the submission.
Should you need to edit the submission files before sending them out for review, you can do this in either the review tab if a round of review has been started or in the submission tab.
In the ‘Review’ tab, you will see a section called ‘Review Files’ or “Submission Files’. Here you can see all of the files uploaded for that stage and their file designation, i.e. whether they are the main manuscript, a supplementary file, or a figure etc.
You can download these files by clicking on the title, you can also bring up a number of options such as ‘Edit’ (this only edits the title) and ‘Delete’. If you need to upload a new version of the file, you can click on the ‘Upload/Select Files’ button just above the section and select the new version. You can then remove any unnecessary files by clicking on ‘Delete’.
