How do I view the email history for a journal submission?

Each submission has a record of all actions performed and all emails sent. This record can be found in the ‘Activity Log & Notes’.  The record contains tabs for both the ‘History’ of all actions and emails, and another with any ‘Notes’ created on the submission‘.   

In the ‘History’ tab, you will have following information:

• The date of the event
• The user who performed the event
• A brief description of the event

There are two ways that you can view the ‘Activity Log & Notes’:

You can do this without having to access a submission, in your ‘Submissions’ dashboard, you bring up a button for a submission’s ‘Activity Log & Notes’ by clicking on the arrow next to the submission’s ‘View’ button.

Alternatively, you can also view this record when you have already accessed a submission, you will find the button for the ‘Activity Log’ in the top right-hand corner of the page.

Clicking on these buttons will bring up a popup window that contains the full action history and email correspondence, such as:

1. editor assignment
2. editor decisions
3. revised file uploads
4. emails (click on the arrow next to the event date to see the ‘View Email’ option
