How do I choose/preview a peer review form?

A journal can have multiple template peer review forms. These can be automatically assigned to specific article types (e.g. 'Peer review form 1' can auto assign to Research articles, and 'Peer review form 2' can auto assign to Methods articles). The structure of the peer review forms and whether they auto assign to specific article types can be setup by your Journal Manager.

To choose or preview a specific review form during an active submission, enter the submission via the main JMS Editor dashboard and assign a reviewer. The assigned reviewer details will display the default peer review form title for that article type. If no default has been assigned then the title will display 'None / Free Form Review'. Next to the form title will be the text 'Select Review Form'.

To change the selected review form, or preview it, click 'Select Review Form'. The page will now list all available peer review forms available to the editor.

The right column of this list has two options:

1. Assign: clicking this button will assign the selected review form to the submission. The title of the review form will then show in the 'Review Form' row of the reviewer details (as above).

2. Preview: clicking this button will display a copy of the selected review form but will not assign it to the submission. This allows editors to check the content of the form before assigning it to the submission.

Once the editor is happy with the assigned review form, the reviewer can be invited, as per the instructions in 'How Do I Invite A Peer Reviewer To A Manuscript?'.
