Can I edit the plugins within my journal?
Most* of the plugins within the Installed Plugins list (Website > Plugins > Installed Plugins
) can be enabled and disabled on a journal-by-journal basis. A Journal Manager is able to decide which plugins they want to have on/off for a specific journal, simply by ticking/unticking the relevant setting:
The availability of plugins is, however, dealt with centrally, so a journal is not able to install or delete plugins without discussion and agreement with the Ubiquity team - i.e. all journals receive the same plugin options. If a Journal Manager does try to install or delete a plugin the default status will simply be re-introduced the next time that the journal platform is upgraded and any changes relating to the plugin will be lost.
Should a Journal Manager know of a plugin that is not currently in use and would like it installed on the journal, they must contact their Ubiquity account manager to discuss the matter.
*a minority of plugins will be ‘locked’ as they are either related to essential journal operations or are related to the service level of the journal (e.g. iThenticate).
