How to I setup iThenticate

If your journal receives the 'full service' support package, then iThenticate anti-plagiarism support will be included in the original setup process. Please talk to your account manager if you would like more information about the service or if you think it is not working correctly.

If your journal does not receive iThenticate support from Paradigm/Ubiquity and you would like to add it yourself, then:

  1. Go to Website > Plugins
  2. Find the 'iThenticate Plagiarism Detector Plugin'
  3. Click the tick box to enable the plugin
  4. Click the arrow next to the plugin name and then the 'Settings' button
  5. Add the iThenticate API URL*
  6. Add the iThenticate API key^
  7. Edit the settings as required
  8. Click 'Save'

If submission files will be automatically sent to iThenticate, also:

  1. Go to Workflow > Components
  2. Open each component you wish to send to iThenticate automatically upon submission
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the form and tick the 'All files assigned to this component will be sent to iThenticate if automated deposit is enabled' setting
  4. Click 'Save'
  5. Repeat for each required component
