What editorial system does ]u[ Ubiquity use?
Answer:
While the journal frontend was designed and built by ]u[ Ubiquity, the backend journal management system is an adaptation of the Public Knowledge Project’s open source platform, Open Journal Systems (OJS). The system has additional plugins to meet the needs of Ubiquity users and to make it suitable for both small and high-scale journals, with a full publication workflow for authors, reviewers and editors.
OJS offers a complete workflow where manuscript files, communications and decisions can be recorded, audited and stored in one place for editors, author, reviewers and publishers. Any communications concerning the processing of manuscripts outside OJS should be limited.
If you have access to a Ubiquity journal, the current version of OJS being used can be obtained by the label in the bottom left of the dashboard. e.g, in the below case OJS 3.3.0.
